It goes way beyond the doctor-patient privilege with him. He really cares about you. I got to know who he was when I was in high school and my dad trusted the family. I remember two years ago in Cincinnati, I was home alone and was running a fever of 105 around midnight. I called him and he and his wife (Hilary) came over to the house and sat with me for a couple of hours.
